It's starting to feel like fall. It was in the 80s today, but it wasn't humid. It was pleasant, but coupled with the start of September, non-humid days and cool nights means fall looms. Three weeks from today. I hate it.
No, I don't hate fall itself. In fact I like the cider, the pumpkin picking, the football and the leaves. But I hate the early sunsets, the bulky clothes, the throwing of the sandals to the back of the closet and the cold nights. And I hate knowing that after fall is winter, basically meaning it's time to put on the snow tires and drive home from work in the icy tundra traffic in the dark.
But I won't complain anymore. This has been one of the best summers ever, and I can only hope fall is just as good. Fall means pretty leaves and pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving, and winter means Christmas and birthdays and family and presents and sledding. And besides, I have all-wheel drive.
So here's a picture of the desert. We took this picture at Red Rock Canyon in Nevada when it was over 100 degrees!
